Costume

 Costume is very important in music videos as it needs to fit the theme of the video and the genre of the song. Some videos have bigger budgets and can afford extravagant fancy clothing but for our production we will have to find ordinary costumes to suit our video.

In Katy Perry's music video for her song 'Roar' she wears a jungle themed outfit with colourful leafs and flowers for her dress and tiger skin top to represent things you may find in the jungle and showing clearly the theme of her music video. This also matches the vibrancy and range of colours in her video. This is shown in the picture above. If she were to wear this outfit to film her music video in the centre of London she would look very out of place in her video. This is why costume is so important in  music videos.
