Choosing a brand image
When it comes to achieving success in the music industry, one factor that distinguishes local artists from those that break into the mainstream is their ability to market themselves. Knowing how you want to present yourself and what you want to be known for can help you be noticed by the appropriate people and move your music from the bedroom to the main stage. If you want to reach a broader audience, you must first be recognised by the proper people. To do so, you'll need not only a distinct image as an artist, but also a strategy for maintaining the integrity of the image. This is the main reason why building a strong brand as a musician is such a powerful approach to get your music heard.
Many artists question whether or not having a brand is truly necessary. They might argue that, at the end of the day, it's all about the music. While this may be true to some extent, it only applies in an ideal environment. In fact, if an artist's brand is powerful enough, they can get away with being less talented. People, on the other hand, are unlikely to listen to your music if your brand is bad. Having a strong and consistent brand is a good approach to show people who you are in a way that makes them want to pay attention. Nothing is more crucial to an artist than getting people to want to listen to their music, yet your music isn't necessarily going to be their first exposure to you.
Our group have designed possible brand images that we think will represent our artist best.
